So, at Nintendo's event just before Tyoko Game Show (TGS), they announced a lot of things for the 3DS. The most standout announcement is almost the most disappointing (to me, anyways). The announcement that the 3DS is going to be getting an add-on that adds another slide pad. Nintendo pretty much just admitted that the 3DS was a failure, just by adding this. They obviously feel intimidated by Sony's Playstation Vita (And really wanted Monster Hunter for their Japan audience).
The add-on will require a AAA battery and will not work off the system's power (or increase battery life (Missed opportunity, Nintendo)).
The real problem is that this separates the market into two different groups. I can only assume that they will have different control schemes for the different versions, but that still isn't exactly fair. And you know that when they do come out with a revision, the new one will just have the second slider put on there, making the original 3DS look like crap.
Oh well. I just had to say something. Anyway, maybe I'll post more about TGS in a later post, but for now, feel disappointed by Nintendo.
